This song is yet another collaboration with my friend, Gabriel's music. I've had the music for quite awhile now. A few weeks ago, I woke up at 5am, (usually the time I am GOING to sleep ! HA!) put the coffee on, and went straight to the studio, where the rest of the song just came to me.
I had wanted to post this song yesterday, which would've been my Dad's birthday. My sister and I spent the day together, thinking of what could've been and should've been. Somehow through all of this reflection, we shared some laughter through those tears. Driving last night, I saw a white bird that seem to come out of nowhere...This hasn't been the first time something like this has happened to me....In that SAME area, mind you....(twilight zone music can be heard in the background...!)
Seriously though, seeing that bird (and all of those other little "glimpses" of the unusual throughout my life) to me, is like getting little "clues" into this world we live in. It put a smile on my face. Just wanted to share that...
I'll shut up now!

I had been singing Jim Steinman songs for about a year and his music was most certainly becoming a part of my life and working it's way into my songwriting.
This song started out as a rocker, which had the working title of "Ruby". I called up my friend, Andrew Fromm, and I began singing my version to him on the phone. He played it back to me on the piano with much more feeling and I knew we were writing a new song....Goodbye, Ruby!! (hmmmm. that sounds like a good title for a new one! Ruby may see the light of day after all !! )
