"Nightline" was demoed by Michael Jackson as 'Nite Line' for his 1982 Thriller album, but didn't make the cut. It was recorded three times in 1983: by the Pointer Sisters for their album Break Out (although it was replaced on later versions), Randy Crawford who used it as title track and released it as a single, and by Ellen.
