| B4 | Shadows on the Freeway | 0:58 | Jim Steinman |
This monologue, which would two years later reappear as "Nocturnal Pleasure" on Meat Loaf's Dead Ringer was recorded in 1979 for an unreleased compilation album called "LA Radio" on the Freeway Records label. The Executive Producer of the project was Harvey Kubernik.
SHADOWS ON THE FREEWAY
Ssst… look
Ssst… look
Ssst… look
The entire city is burning
You can see the flames like the inside of a mad jukebox
Lost boys stalk the streets with those jungle markings on their chest
Barbarians prowl in the shadows of the freeway
Their heads rocking with rodents
Motorcycles reproduce in nocturnal alleys
Groaning with greasy pleasure
And they've blown up the YMCA like a giant balloon
And sent it out to sea, full of screaming, lovely, lonely girls....
